1. About us

medtrainit is operated by Edtrainit Ltd, registered in Scotland, Company No. SC887286, registered office 21 Fleurs Place, Elgin, Scotland, IV30 1ST. Email: connect@medtrainit.com. These Terms apply when medtrainit is purchased or used.

2. What you are buying

medtrainit IMAT is an online exam-preparation platform providing practice questions, educational explanations and feedback matched to the answer selected, targeted follow-up practice, and progress information and dashboards.

The price payable is the price displayed at checkout at the time of purchase, including any tax we are required to collect. The purchase provides 12 months of access beginning when the account is activated after successful payment. It is not a subscription and does not renew automatically unless a separate future offer expressly says otherwise and the customer agrees to it.

Question format

At the date these Terms are published, official IMAT questions use five answer options. medtrainit learning questions use four carefully constructed options. This is a deliberate learning design that allows each incorrect option to be linked to specific feedback and targeted follow-up practice. medtrainit is a learning resource and is not presented as an exact simulation of the official examination format.

How answers are used

medtrainit automatically analyses submitted answers to identify the predefined type of mistake linked to the selected option and to calculate progress information. The Privacy Notice explains this in full.

3. Who holds the account, and what they can see

If the student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must purchase and hold the purchasing account. The student is a named user. If the student is 18 or over, the student may purchase and hold the account themselves.

Each account is for one student only. Login details must not be shared. When purchasing an under-18 account, the purchaser declares that they are the student's parent or legal guardian and are authorised to purchase and administer the account, and must provide accurate age-status information including the month and year in which the student is expected to turn 18.

While the student is under 18, the account holder can view the student's limited progress dashboard. It shows topics covered, categories of mistake recorded, progress indicators and progress reports. It does not show the individual answers the student gave or anything about the student from outside medtrainit. The account holder cannot change or delete answers or progress records.

A student who is concerned about this access can contact us privately. We consider the request having regard to the student's age, wishes and best interests and may restrict access in appropriate circumstances.

4. When an under-18 student approaches 18

For an under-18 account we record the month and year in which the student is expected to turn 18. Automatic parent or guardian dashboard access ends at the beginning of that calendar month. Because we do not collect the exact day, access may end shortly before the student's actual eighteenth birthday. This is deliberate so that access stops early rather than continuing after adulthood.

The student or account holder may ask us to correct an inaccurate month or year. A student may also tell us at any time that they are already 18. When automatic access ends, the student keeps the remainder of the 12-month access period and controls any future dashboard sharing. The previous account holder is informed that automatic access has ended.

5. Payment and account activation

Payment is processed securely by Stripe. Edtrainit Ltd does not receive or store the complete payment-card number. After successful payment the account is activated and account credentials are created or delivered through a secure process. We do not send readable passwords by email.

6. Immediate access and cancellation rights

Consumers normally have a 14-day cancellation period for distance purchases. medtrainit supplies digital content and online access immediately when requested. Before immediate access begins, the purchaser must make any express request, consent or acknowledgement required by consumer law for immediate supply and for any resulting effect on the ordinary cancellation right. We record the wording shown, its version, date and time, the response given and the purchase reference.

Where the statutory conditions for loss of the ordinary change-of-mind cancellation right have been met, that right no longer applies after supply begins. This does not affect statutory rights where digital content or the service is faulty, misdescribed or otherwise does not meet applicable legal requirements.

7. Refunds

We do not ordinarily provide change-of-mind refunds where immediate access has begun and the statutory cancellation right has validly been lost. Statutory rights remain unaffected. Depending on the circumstances, remedies for faulty or non-conforming digital content may include correction, restored access, replacement, price reduction or refund. Duplicate payments and payments taken in error will be refunded.

8. End of the access period

Access ends 12 months after activation. We may offer further access, but renewal is not automatic. Expiry does not mean all purchase, accounting, consent or legal records are immediately deleted; information is retained in accordance with the Privacy Notice.

9. No guarantee of examination success

medtrainit does not guarantee a particular IMAT score, success in the IMAT, admission to a university, a medical-school place, or any academic, immigration, career or professional outcome. Progress information is educational guidance only, not an official grade or prediction of examination performance.

medtrainit is an educational study tool. It does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment and does not provide formal university-admissions advice.

10. Acceptable use

You may use medtrainit for one student's personal study. You must not share the account or password; allow several students to use one account; copy, download, record or reproduce substantial parts of the platform; take screenshots in bulk; scrape or automatically extract content; distribute, republish, sell or sublicense platform content; bypass security or access controls; interfere with or overload the platform; reverse engineer the platform; or use our content or service to reproduce a competing product.

Questions, explanations, feedback, videos, designs, branding and other platform content belong to Edtrainit Ltd or its licensors. You purchase time-limited access, not ownership of the content, methodology or technology.

We may suspend or close an account following a serious or repeated breach. Except where immediate action is required for security or legal reasons, we will explain the issue and provide a reasonable opportunity to correct it.

11. Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. The platform may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, security work, technical faults, external-provider failures or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Where practical we will give notice of planned maintenance and take reasonable steps to restore access.

12. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory consumer rights.

We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for examination results, university decisions or other outcomes outside our control, or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made. medtrainit is supplied for personal educational use and we are not responsible for business losses arising from personal use.

13. Privacy, public website advertising and cookies

Edtrainit may use Google Ads and lead-generation technologies on public marketing pages. Optional advertising technologies are governed by the Privacy Notice, Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy and the visitor's cookie choices. Advertising technologies are not used inside the logged-in medtrainit learning platform, and student learning information is not used for advertising or audience creation.

14. Complaints

Please send service complaints to connect@medtrainit.com. Complaints about how personal information is handled are dealt with under the Privacy Notice. Edtrainit Ltd is not currently a member of a specific alternative dispute-resolution scheme. Where the law requires information about an approved ADR provider, we will provide it and state whether we agree to use that provider.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Changes will not be applied retrospectively to an existing purchase where doing so would unfairly reduce the customer's rights. Where a material change affects an existing customer we will provide appropriate notice.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live elsewhere as a consumer, this does not remove any mandatory consumer protection provided by the law of the country in which you live.
