Privacy information for students
How medtrainit uses your information
When you submit an answer, medtrainit records it.
We use your answers to:
- tell you whether they were correct;
- explain mistakes;
- give you suitable follow-up practice; and
- show how your progress is changing.
Your progress screen
Your detailed progress screen starts hidden.
You can select "Show my progress" or hide it again later.
Hiding the progress screen changes only what you see. It does not stop medtrainit from:
- recording your answers;
- giving you feedback;
- calculating your progress; or
- creating progress reports.
Parent or guardian access
If you are under 18, the parent or guardian who holds the account can see your progress dashboard.
You will see this message while parent or guardian access is active:
Your progress dashboard is shared with your parent or guardian account holder.
You can open an explanation showing what the account holder can see.
They cannot change the answers you have submitted.
When you become 18
When you become 18, go to your account settings and select:
I am now 18
You can also contact connect@medtrainit.com.
We may ask you once during your access period whether you have become 18.
After you confirm that you are 18:
- automatic parent or guardian access ends;
- you keep the remainder of your access period;
- you decide whether to continue sharing your dashboard; and
- you may stop sharing it later.
The previous parent or guardian account holder will be told that their automatic access has ended.
What we do not do
We do not:
- sell your information;
- use your answers for advertising;
- show your progress publicly;
- use your learning information for unrelated purposes;
- decide your official examination result; or
- decide whether a university should accept you.
Your rights
You can ask us:
- what information we hold about you;
- to correct information that is wrong;
- to delete information where the law allows;
- to explain how your information is used; or
- to consider a concern or objection.
